The blank slate is as beautiful as it is terrifying. Start with your goal. What do you want users to do when they visit your site? From there, you can start building a map of your site that shows the journey you want to lead them on and the experience you want to give them.

When you’re looking for ways to improve your existing site, bringing in a fresh pair of eyes is never a bad idea. The two sites that I currently maintain were started by someone else, and when I was brought in to maintain them, I started by doing an “audit” of what was already there. It’s a good way to test what is and isn’t working, to refresh things that are getting stale, and to find new ways to express your brand.

Maintaining an up-to-date site is the best way to show visitors that you’re paying attention to what you’re doing, and it forces the search engines and the bots that run the internet to re-read your site, which helps keep it on their radar. This means updating old information, adding new photography, refreshing the home page and maintaining SEO.

Gospel Center’s Website was outdated and the platform that was hosting it had been bought by another company that was going to raise their rates hosting rates, considerably. The new and improved website was designed with the goal of offering a valuable resource to their current members while also making a good first impression for visitors.

Davis Exteriors has been in business for over 25 years, but had never created a website. They wanted a place to showcase their work and provide prospective clients with a complete list of their service offerings.

Corazón Sterling and Spark Permanent Jewelry Bar share a website as part of the same company. As an e-commerce site powered by Shopify, maintaining the site involves updating the front page to reflect current campaigns, curating product collections, adding and updating product photography, testing and adding features and creating a positive user experience. Interior Motives Website is information/service based. This goal is to walk viewers through the services that Interior Motives offers and to encourage them to book a consultation. Maintaining the site involves updating the portfolio, uploading videos, updating the showroom photography, and the occasional refresh to keep things interesting.

The Suites houses multiple women-owned businesses that operate independently, but that also come together to form a truly unique shopping experience in Downtown Elkhart. They wanted a website to promote the Suites as a whole while also showcasing the individual businesses that make it a premiere shopping destination.
